Build Chinese input method RIME from source

Third-party keyboards may have access to what users type. I’m not suggesting that any particular keyboard is collecting or misusing this data, but I prefer to verify the software myself.

Rime is one of the most popular open-source Chinese input method frameworks. Today, I’m sharing how I built Rime and Weasel entirely from source—including some of their transitive dependencies.

Before building, you can audit the complete source tree, remove all prebuilt binaries and unnecessary network functionality, and strengthen the protection of locally stored user data.
