so long, my friends
Everything happened so fast.
Yesterday, we were still discussing technical design, meeting with customers, and racing against the deadline.
Then, overnight, everything changed.
When I opened Slack again, their avatars no longer glowed. Our chat history is now forever frozen in what had seemed like an ordinary afternoon.
I have just witnessed one of the largest layoffs in IT history. Many of my mentors, leaders, and buddies are gone.
An enterprise is like a society with its own complex internal logic. Many have pour years into this world, conquering territories, bonding relationships and building prestige. But even empires face their rise and fall, how could a company be different? All the glory and rivalry we once took pride in have ultimately dissolved into a single, unreplyable email.
The system is offline, but the legend remains.
So long, my friends. May this relentless wave of our time eventually carry you to a more peaceful and open shore.
